Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe offers excellent walking safaris, and a really immersive style of safari that includes water activities. Arguably the best guides in Africa and the option to do approaches to animals on foot makes Zimbabwe a strong option.
Hwange
Hwange is Zimbabwe's largest and most popular safari park. Due to augmentation by man-made waterholes it sustains an exceptional level of big game, with particulalry impressive large herds of elephants. Lion sightings are strong too.
Mana Pools
Situated along the Zambezi river, Mana Pools offers excellent game viewing and opportunities for land based game viewing and water based activities on boats and canoes. Particulalry scenic with great views over the river towards the Zambian escarpment. Famous for it's elephants that stand up on their hind legs to eat from higher tree branches.
Lake Kariba/Matusadona
Situated on the world's largest man-made lake, water activities are a focus here and fishing is also a popular activity.
Matobo Hills
Rhino and leopard viewing and exploring San rock art and the impressive geoology are the main draws of Matobo Hills.
Gonarezhou
One of Zimbabwe's least visited parks, so has a real off the beaten track feel.
Victoria Falls
The world's largest sheet of falling water on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia makes a perfect pre or post safari add on. The Zimbabwean side has viewing access to a longer section of the waterfall than can be seen from Zambia. Apart from visiting the waterfall itself by foot, activities also include boat trips and scenic helicopter flights, as well as adrenaline activities like bungee jumping, gorge swinging, zip lining and white water rafting.
